24th March 2012 Skiing: Chamrousse Wind Direction: Wind Stength: Surf / Sea State: Air Temperature: Sea Temperature: Weather: sunny Max Speed: Distance Covered: Saturday 24th Mar.2012 – Skiing **** Sunny and warm Our last day here:( had a bit of a lay in then up for breakfast and loaded up the van which was just down the hill from our patio :) Had a cuppa and waited for our apartment to be checked, we had made a good job of cleaning and passed with flying colours :) After a quick trip to reception and the shop we parked up under the lift just above Chamrousse 1750 packed a picnic and were on the lift at 11:20 :) We had a lovely three hours out in the warm sunshine and after having another go on the skier cross and mini timed run – slow today snow too soft !!! we headed over to Chamrousse 1650 and had loads of goes down the great red they use for their slalom run then as they closed the run for the competition to start we headed to the top of the De La Berangerere and found the most amazing spot for lunch overlooking the surrounding mountains and snowy valley where we walked the other day:) We were entertained for ages by an oldish couple on snow shoes set off down sthe steep slope !!! We then skied back to the van as the snow had turned to treacle :( It was fairly busy today especially with classes for kids bussed up from Grenoble!! We had a drink, changed and went for a swim but sadly it closes on Saturdays:( So we sat in the van at tonights overnight spot enjoying the view and reading. We are off to the K-Bar later for some Wi-Fi we don’t know when we will get it again ??? |
